FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

  • I can't attack a player. Why?
Users below Level 9 have Novice protection. They can initiate an attack on any player, but no one can attack their Castle unless provoked first. Users under Level 15 and the ones registered for less than 5 days can only attack players of below Level 15 and ones who have been registered for less than 5 days. Users Level 15 and higher can only attack players of Level 15 and higher.

Build the Keep and Sentry House, discover required Lost Arts, and purchase at least one Unit to begin engaging in military activity.

NOTE: If a player returns to the game after an extended period of absence, Lord Oberon will grant this Lord or Lady 7 days of protection to allow them to get their Castle back to a battle ready state. Players under this protection can initiate an attack on any player, but no one can attack their Castle unless the protected player strikes at them first.
  • How can I restart the game from the beginning?
You can't. There are no dead ends in the game, but there is also no restarting on the same account. Don't worry: even if you make some mistakes in the beginning, you can always develop your Castle up to a higher level and fulfill all of Oberon's Tasks. Be sure to follow the instructions in the order that they're given or you'll slow down your Castle's development by using up your resources too fast. If this happens, just wait until you collect enough to continue.
  • Where did Oberon's Reinforcements go?
Oberon's Reinforcements are at your Castle. Open the "My Castle" tab at your Keep to view them. You can't command friendly Reinforcements.
  • Can I cancel an attack/construction/upgrade?
You have 50 seconds to cancel sending Units orders, Caravans, Building construction, and upgrades. 80% of construction or upgrading cost will be returned to your account.
  • Why did I acquire 0 Resources after my last Raid?
There is a weekly cap of 50,000 Resources than can be gained from looting (or gifting) in each Castle. You can go back and Raid this Castle again next week. Resources are calculated within the last 7 days.
  • Can buildings be destroyed?
While you may lose Units and Resources if you fail to defend your Castle, no building can be completely destroyed by enemy attacks. Some objects, like Guardians and the Altar of Weor, may be damaged during successful attacks and may need to be revived or upgraded. If the Altar is damaged, all its upgrade progress will be lost.
  • How do I modify or remove existing buildings?
Click the "Edit" button in the right-hand panel. You can move all of your structures, but only Improvements can be permanently deleted once they have been constructed. Remember that you can expand your Castle if you find yourself running out of space. You can also upgrade Fortifications to higher levels.
  • When can I attack other Castles?
Users under Level 9 have Novice protection. They can attack any player but no one can attack their Castle. Users from Level 9 through Level 14 (or the ones registered for less than 5 days) can only attack players up to Level 14 (or the ones registered for less than 5 days). Users of Level 15 and higher can only attack players of Level 15 and higher; however, if you attack ANY player above Level 9 - YOU LOSE YOUR NOVICE PROTECTION! If you initiate a war with another Lord while you're both below Level 15, it will continue regardless of one player developing past Level 14.

You can't begin any military activity until you have constructed the Keep, and the Sentry House. You must also discover required Lost Arts and purchase at least one Unit before starting military activity.
  • What are Sieges?
Laying Siege to other Castles proves you're stronger than your rivals and lets you place in the Siege and Tribute Rankings. The Top 10 Lords are rewarded with Sapphires every week. Laying Siege to an opponent does not eliminate them. You may also choose to occupy Castles you are currently besieging. Once occupied, these Castles will offer you a percentage of their Gold or Iron production.

The "Fiefs" tab displays information on:
    - All currently occupied Settlements and Fiefs
-The amount of Resources currently ready for collection
    - Time remaining until next collection
    - Time remaining until the Fief or Settlement's storage is full
    - Number and type of Units at each Fief or Settlement
To collect all Resources accumulated in a Fief, click "Collect" when the button is active.

To select a different besieged Castle to occupy, remove one from your Fiefs list and add the desired Castle from your "Fiefs" tab.
  • I'm a Novice. Why have I been attacked?
Users under Level 9 have Novice protection. They can attack any player but no one can attack their Castle. Users from Level 9 through level 14 (or the ones registered for less than 5 days) can only attack players up to level 14 (or the ones registered for less than 5 days). Users of Level 15 and higher can only attack players of level 15 and higher; however, if you attack ANY player above Level 9 - YOU LOSE YOUR NOVICE PROTECTION! If you initiate a war with another Lord while you're both below Level 15, it will continue regardless of one player developing past Level 14.

If you find that you are being attacked, you may have already lost your protection by attacking a high-level player.
  • I can't find my Caravans.
Check the "Caravans" tab at the Market. Cancel expired trade offers to release your Caravans.
  • Why do I need Sapphires?
Sapphires give you extra advantages in the game. You can:
-Get a 3-day boost to your Gold, Iron or Food production by 25%
    - Boost the rate of your building construction, reduce the time needed to discover Lost Arts, and speed your Unit production.
-They allow you to produce Imperial Units.
-They allow you to instantly Recall your Units.
    - Purchase Fortifications, Improvements, and exclusive Units
    - Expand your Castle
Purchase additional Sapphires at the Bank by selecting the 'Bank' button in the top right-hand corner of the screen. You can get free Sapphires in several ways - completing the game tasks, playing the game 90 days in a row, placing in the top Ranking positions, or by completing Feats of Valor.
  • Why does the game switch out of full-screen mode?
Whenever you enter text, the game will automatically switch out of full-screen mode. This is the result of an unfortunate dark spell upon the network platform that cannot be lifted. Our mages are hard at work researching the proper ritual to undo the spell.
  • Why did my Scrolls disappear?
When you sell or exchange Scrolls, you do not retain a copy. They will also disappear after you discover the Lost Arts they were required for.
  • Why do I get identical Scrolls?
Your scribes randomly pick a new Scroll each day. If you receive 2 or more identical Scrolls, you can still take advantage of them by trading the extras for Scrolls you need at the Market.
  • How do I keep track of my Units?
Go to the Keep and open the "Tracking" tab to view current information about your Units' location and travel time.
  • Can I skip the tutorial?
You can complete Oberon's tasks at any time you choose, but it is HIGHLY recommended that you follow the instructions in the order that they're given or you risk slowing down your Castle's development by using up your Resources too fast. You'll also be passing up an easy opportunity to earn Sapphires early in the game. Some of the rules and instructions are complex, so take the time to learn how to complete basic tasks. If you wish to skip ahead you can refer to the Guide menu.
  • I run out of Food all the time. Why is this happening?
All Buildings and Units constantly consume Food. You will see a warning pop up in your Military Building interface if you don't have enough Food to support any new Units. Place your cursor over the "Resources" panel in the upper left-hand corner of your screen to find out how many Resources you're acquiring and consuming per hour. Upgrade your Farms to increase your Food production.
  • How do I increase the rate of my Food acquisition?
Upgrade your Farms and Barns to gain more Food. You can also use Sapphires to boost Food acqusition by 25% for 3 days.
  • Are there any bonuses in the game?
Free Iron, Food, and Gold appear outside the walls of your Castles each day. You will also get a new Scroll from your Scribe each day. There is a Sapphire reward each time you play the game 90 days in a row, and you will be rewarded with Sapphires when you complete tutorial tasks or earn Medallions for Feats of Valor.
  • How do I get more Sapphires?
You can purchase additional Sapphires at the Bank by selecting the "Bank" button in the top right-hand corner of the screen. You can also get Sapphires by actions within the game:
    - Completing the game tasks.
    - Level up.
    - Playing the game for 90 days in a row.
    - Placing in the Top Ranking positions.
    - Completing Feats of Valor.
  • How do I expand my Castle?
Invite more Friends to expand your Castle up to 2 times for free! Use Sapphires for further Castle expansion.
  • Why don't I get instructions from Oberon anymore?
Because you've completed your training! You've finished all of his tasks and are now ready to face the Stormfall world on your own. You will periodically get messages from Oberon about changes in the game in your Message Inbox.
  • Why didn't I earn any Raid Ranking points?
Raid points are the amount or Resources you carried off during Raids minus the amount of Resources carried off from your Castle by raiders. If you get a negative number of Raid points as a result, you can't place in the Raid Rankings.
  • I have reached my 10 Raid attempts!
You will be permitted one new Raid attempt every 2.5 hours.
  • How can I know if I'm about to be Spied upon?
The Silent Ones are undetectable when moving around Stormfall - you will not know when they are en route, and receive no warning. Your Grand Marshal will inform you of enemy Spy missions only after they have occurred.
  • How do I defend my Castle from Enemy Spies?
The more Silent Ones you have in your Castle, the higher your chances are of repelling an enemy spy mission. You may also post Sentries on top of your defenses to increase your Castle's Intelligence Bonus rating and the effectiveness of the Silent Ones guarding your Castle.
  • What is my Castle Defense Bonus?
Your Castle Defense Bonus increases the defensive performance of any Units your have defending your Castle. Building Fortifications, (Walls, Towers, Gates, Ballistae, etc.) and Improvements increase your Castle's overall Defense Bonus. Keep in mind that your Castle Defense Bonus only helps your Units defend against attacks, and will not help you if you have no defensive force posted at your Castle. Each 100 Defensive points increase your Units' Defensive stats by 1%.
  • Where can I view a Unit's stats?
Click "More" above each Unit when purchasing to view their characteristics.
  • When do I get my Siege points?
Siege points are given immediately, but you may have to wait a few minutes until they are displayed in your profile.
  • How do I expand my Castle if I have already built Walls?
Expanding your Castle has no effect upon the Fortifications you have installed. You may notice gaps along the perimeter after you have expanded your Castle, but your Castle Defense Bonus will remain unchanged. You may purchase additional Fortifications in order to fill the gaps, and move/edit your existing defenses to appear more contiguous.
  • How do I create a League?
You must pay a set number of Sapphires and have attained at least Level 10 in order to create a League.

To create a new League, go to the Embassy and open the "My League" tab, enter a unique name for your League, and design a custom banner using the banner generator.
  • How do I control more Settlements?
Once you've upgraded the required Rune Tree Bonus to Level 30, you will be able to control a total of 3 Settlements (including Relic Shrines), provided that you've already upgraded your House of Lords up to Level 6 and built the Eagle's Nest.
  • I didn't get any Bonus on a Battleground!
Battleground Bonuses are based on a few different variables. The value of the Units, Recourses, or items that you receive is roughly proportionate to the combined Resource value of the Units you've lost when fighting Battlegrounds. That value may be subject to a Bonus multiplier, (offering you more or higher-level Bonus Units, Resources, or special game items), and also a chance of landing on "no bonus". Each time you don't get a Bonus, your previous "winnings" that weren't paid out are carried over to the calculation on the next higher level you engage. Every Battlefield you win increases the odds of receiving a payout, and the potential size of the total payout - so don't give up! If you get frustrated, remember that these missions are optional - you may prefer taking your chances in open battle.
  • Castle Defense Bonus and friendly Reinforcements
Relic Attributes only influence your own Units. Castle Defense Bonuses influence all friendly Units currently stationed within your Castle, including friendly Reinforcements.
  • What is Dark Essence and where can I get it?
With the daily weakening of Eir and the slow death of our Sun, only the Beacons stand between us and the coming night. Balur and his Marennon masters know this all too well, and even now they drive their Black Horse to occupy them. This must not come to pass or all shall be lost. Any League that captures a Beacon must defend it from increasingly powerful waves of the Black Horde (and the armies of rival Leagues). The battles will be brutal, but you will have one secret weapon...

The strong enchantments woven into the foundations of each Beacon have the power to trap and store the Dark Essence of all of Balur's spawn slain during the defense of your League's Beacons. Your League may use this Essence to perform a forbidden ritual to "Darken" your own Units - imbuing them with a spark of the evil that grants Balur's forces their strength. This will reduce their need for Food, increase their defensive and offensive statistics, and improve their effectiveness in combat. All Dark Essence reclaimed from fallen Black Horde units is stored within the Beacon where the battle took place.
  • What are Runes of Fealty and where can I get them?
League Runes of Fealty are tokens of loyalty that can be used by League Members to increase their League's maximum membership limit. (Max: 150 Members)

League Members will automatically begin receiving Runes of Fealty for every 5th new Level attained, which can be applied through the League Interface.
  • Why did I stop getting new Saga Quests?
To unlock further Saga Quests you must first complete the indicated Battlegrounds, located on the Eagle's Nest Interface. Go to your Eagle's Nest and select the "Quests" tab to see how to unlock further Quests.

If you have completed all 24 of the Saga Quests then there are no further Quests to unlock for the moment.
  • Why can't I contribute Resources towards upgrading a Beacon?
You will be able to contribute Resources towards upgrading a Beacon your League currently holds only after you have been a member of that League for 7 days or more.
  • What are Paragon Points and how do I get them?
Paragon Points count towards the Level of your Paragon Status which, when activated, grants you powerful boosts, bonuses and improves the statistics of your Units and Castle. You earn Paragon Points just by logging into the game each day. For each consecutive day you log into the game, you will be rewarded with an increasing number of Paragon Points. The longer your run, the more Points you can earn.

As your total Paragon Points increase, so will your Paragon Level and the power of your accompanying bonuses when your Paragon Status is activated.

You may also acquire Paragon Points by purchasing them at the Black Market directly.
  • What is my Paragon Status and how do I activate it?
Your Paragon Status is a special gameplay modifier that grants powerful boosts and bonuses to the statistics of both your Castle and Units for a set period of time when activated.

Your Paragon Status has multiple Levels. Collect Paragon Points to increase the Level of your Paragon Status. Upon completion of each Level, Paragon Status will automatically be activated on your account for 24 hours. With each new Level gained, you will be rewarded with increasingly larger bonuses, boosts and other rewards.

To activate your Paragon Status, you must use Paragon Activators that can be earned by participating in special game events, or purchased at the Black Market from the "Misc." tab. Keep in mind that once activated, your Paragon Status cannot be canceled or aborted early.

To activate your Paragon Status, go to the Black Market, open the "Misc." tab and click the "Apply" button next to the Paragon Status Activator. Once your Paragon Status has expired, you must manually reactivate it.

Visit the game every day to receive huge bonuses. Those who log in for 30 days consecutively will also be eligible for special bonus prizes at the end of each 30 day period. Logging in for 60 or 90 days in a row makes these bonus prizes even bigger! • How do I maximize space in my Castle?
You can use the "Edit" button to move around objects and buildings so that they use your existing space more efficiently, or expand your Castle by using Sapphires or inviting more friends.
  • Who pays to maintain Reinforcement Units?
Your Units will always consume only YOUR Food, no matter where they are. All other Units are maintained at their owner's expense.
  • Why didn't I earn any Raid Ranking points?
Raid points are the amount or Resources you carried off during Raids minus the amount of Resources carried off from your Castle by raiders. If you get a negative number of Raid points as a result, you can't place in the Raid Rankings.
  • How do I liberate my Castle from a Siege?
One of your Friends can liberate your Castle by sending you offensive Reinforcements, or you can overthrow the occupant yourself - just build enough offensive Units and click "Break Siege" under the Enemy's name.
  • When do I get my Siege points?
Siege points are given immediately, but you may have to wait a few minutes until they are displayed in your profile.
  • How do I upgrade my Units?
You can upgrade your Units either by going to the House of Scrolls and upgrading the Lost Art that unlocked the Unit, or by clicking the "Level" button above the Unit's icon in the description window.
  • How do I accelerate Unit production?
You can speed up Unit production by clicking the "Boost" button for the current production queue, or the "Boost All" button for all pending production queues. Certain game items may also have attributes that can speed Unit production.
  • I have reached my 10 Raid attempts!
You will be permitted one new Raid attempt every 2.5 hours.
  • Why are there different Resource Field ratios?
Some Castles have more Townhouses - Others have more Mines. The amount of Gold and Iron ore available in each Castle is varied in order to encourage Trading with other players at the Market. Exchange excess Resources for ones you need - or sell them for additional Food.
  • How can I know if I'm about to be Spied upon?
The Silent Ones are undetectable when moving around Stormfall - you will not know when they are en route, and receive no warning. Your Grand Marshal will inform you of enemy Spy missions only after they have occurred.
  • How do Hamlets differ from Settlements?
Both Settlements and Hamlets are inhabited sites on the Global Map dedicated to the production of one of the three main types of Resources (Food, Gold or Iron), or special Resources like Sapphires or Amulets.

    RESOURCES AVAILABLE

There are three sizes of Settlements: large, medium and small. The rate of Resources offered up by the citizens of a Settlement, and its storage capacity, depend on its size. The bigger a Settlement, the more Resources it yields per hour, and the larger its capacity.

You will find Hamlets of varying sizes on the Map according to your level in the game. The speed at which you can gather Resources from a Hamlet depends on the upgrade Level of the Lost Art of "Dominion" in your Castle, and the amount of Resources you can collect in one go is determined by the collective carrying capacity of the Defensive Units you have stationed at the site.

    SETTLEMENT AND HAMLET DEPLETION

When a Settlement is depleted, it is removed from the Map. The time remaining until a Settlement's depletion is displayed on the pop-up Map menu and in your Administrative buildings (Keep and Eagle's Nest). A Hamlet, on the other hand, does not have a predetermined lifetime. It will be removed from the Map when it is depleted of Resources, or if no one has attacked or captured it for an extended period of time.

When new Settlements or Hamlets appear on the Map, they are vacant and unguarded – so try to be first to capture one! Any player can view the number of Resources currently held there by positioning their cursor over the site.
  • I earned additional Raid Attempts, but I can't use them. Why?
You can increase your daily limit for Raid attempts by:
    1. Activating your Paragon Status (at higher Paragon levels, this is one of the bonuses; check the Paragon Bonuses window to see if you qualify)
    2. Completing Achievements in the House of Unity (inviting your friends)
    3. Upgrading the "+1 Raid Attempt" attribute in your Obelisk of Power.

If you earn, for example, 4 extra Raid attempts, it does not mean that you can go raid 4 Castles right away. What these "extra Raid attempts" mean is that the cooldown between Raids is reduced.

Without these "extra Raid attempts", you receive a new Raid attempt only every 2.5 hours. This means that you could only perform a maximum of 10 in a day. Now, for example, with your Paragon Status activated for 24 hours, the cooldown time between Raid Attempts is decreased to the point where you could fit in 4 additional Raid Attempts in a 24 hour period, and you can now raid your enemies 14 times instead of 10 in one day!
